Super Healthy Nuts

A study of Adventists living in Loma Linda, California, one of five areas on the planet where people live the longest (Blue Zones), showed those who ate nuts 5 times a week lived 2 years longer! Eat your nuts! Here are 3 ways to add more incredible healing herbs and spices to this already nutrient-dense miracle food.

Curry Cashews
   •    1 T Lemon Juice

   •    1 T Curry Powder

   •    Pinch of ground Black Pepper

   •    1/2 tsp Kosher Salt

   •    1/2 tsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil

   •    1 cup Unsalted, Unroasted Cashews

Herb Mix*
   •    1/2 cup Mixed Herbs

   •    1/2 T Extra Virgin Olive Oil

   •    Zest from 1 Lemon

   •    1/2 tsp Kosher Salt

   •    1 cup Mixed Unsalted Nuts like Walnuts, Pecans, Brazil

Spiced Cinnamon Honey Mix
   •    1 T Honey

   •    1/2 T Extra Virgin Olive Oil

   •    1 tsp Cinnamon

   •    1 tsp Ginger

   •    1/8 tsp Cayenne

   •    1/8 tsp Himalayan Salt

   •    1 cup Mixed Unsalted Nuts like Almonds and Cashews


Toss nuts with herb/spice mix. Cook for 30 minutes in 250º oven on parchment lined sheet pan. Toss half way through. Store in mason jar.


Makes: 1 cup

* You may toss cooked nuts with more fresh herbs and zest for added flavor.
